How Georgia calculates it

  • Add the wages you earned in your highest‑earning quarter to the wages from your second‑highest quarter.
  • Divide that sum by 42 to get the preliminary weekly benefit amount.
  • If the result is less than $55, the weekly benefit is set to the state minimum of $55.
  • If the result exceeds $365, the weekly benefit is capped at $365.
  • The benefit is payable for up to 14 weeks under current low unemployment rates (the duration can extend to 26 weeks when the state unemployment rate rises).

Quarters of $9,500 and $8,500: ($9,500 + $8,500) ÷ 42 = $429, adjusted to the $365 bound — a weekly benefit of $365 for up to 14 weeks ($5,110 total if fully drawn).
